WHAT IS APPLIED BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS?

So, what exactly
is ABA therapy?

Simply put, it's the most researched, proven approach to helping children with autism build skills for life. At Apex ABA, we use it to help your child develop communication, independence, and the tools they need to navigate the world around them. It works by understanding the why behind behavior and building from there.

Learn More About Our Approach

Here's what it looks like with us:

01

Every plan starts from your child's strength, not their diagnosis

02

You're part of every goal, every decision, and every step forward

03

Progress is built for everyday life, not just the therapy session

ABA THERAPY FOR AUTISM

Why does my child need ABA therapy?

ABA therapy helps children with autism develop the skills they need to communicate, connect, and function in daily life.

Communication

Finding words and the confidence to use them. Asking for help. Expressing needs.

Independence

Doing more, needing less help, one skill at a time.

Social Connection

Playing alongside others, then with them.

Self-Regulation

Fewer meltdowns. More tools to handle the hard moments.

Daily Routines

Mornings, mealtimes, transitions — smoother than you thought possible.

Family Life

Less crisis management. More time to just be family.

How does ABA therapy work at Apex? Experience The Difference.

You've sat on the sidelines while therapists made decisions about your child without you. You've watched your child make progress in sessions that never seemed to follow them home. You've been promised progress without ever being shown what it actually looks like.

Small caseloads mean real attention

We limit our caseloads to ensure your child gets the maximum attention and care they deserve. That means your BCBA actually knows your child. Remembers what happened last week. Notices when something stops working. Adjusts the plan when your kid is ready for the next step.

We work where your child lives

In-home therapy during real family moments: breakfast, getting ready for school, playtime, bedtime. School-based therapy during class, recess, lunch. Your child learns skills in the places they actually use them.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT ABA THERAPY

Your questions, answered

We provide in-home ABA therapy, school-based therapy, parent training, daycare support, weekend therapy, and early intervention services. Every program is tailored to your child's individual goals and supervised by experienced Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).

That's exactly the conversation we want to have with you. During your free consultation, we'll walk through your child's needs honestly, answer your questions, and help you decide whether ABA with Apex is the right path.

Deeply. From the first conversation to the last session, you're part of the process. We build parent training into every program because what happens at home matters just as much as what happens in therapy.

Small caseloads (6-10 families per BCBA vs industry standard 20), real-world settings (we work where your child lives, not just in a clinic), and full parent involvement from day one. We don't just treat your child—we equip you to support their progress every day.

Most families begin therapy within 2-4 weeks of first contact. We verify insurance fast, schedule assessments quickly, and get your child started.

Yes. ABA therapy requires an autism diagnosis from a qualified medical professional like a developmental pediatrician, psychologist, or psychiatrist.

Most children receive 10-30 hours per week depending on their age and needs. Your BCBA recommends a schedule after the assessment based on what your child needs to make progress.

Yes. Your child works with the same BCBA and therapist consistently. We don't rotate staff randomly. If something isn't working, we find a better match—but consistency is the priority.

Most insurance plans are required to cover ABA therapy for autism in North Carolina, Maryland, and Georgia. We verify benefits upfront and handle all paperwork, authorizations, and reauthorizations.

A BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) assesses your child, designs the therapy plan, supervises treatment, and adjusts goals. An RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) works directly with your child during sessions, implementing the plan under BCBA supervision.
