Confirmed continuity, unlike some other Georgia Medicaid plans
CareSource kept its Georgia Medicaid contract in the state's most recent procurement, which matters given other plans are being phased out.
CareSource ABA therapy coverage in Georgia
Insurance jargon should never stand between your child and excellent ABA therapy. That's why we handle your CareSource coverage, your authorization, and every step in between, so all you have to focus on is your child.
Does CareSource cover ABA therapy in Georgia?
CareSource is one of Georgia's Medicaid managed care organizations, and following the state's January 2026 procurement decision, it's the only incumbent Georgia Medicaid plan that kept its contract, alongside new entrants Humana, Molina, and UnitedHealthcare. CareSource covers ABA therapy as medically necessary for eligible children under 21.
What makes CareSource's coverage work
CareSource kept its Georgia Medicaid contract in the state's most recent procurement, which matters given other plans are being phased out.
Behavioral assessment authorization is requested in 3-month increments, while ongoing treatment authorization is requested in 6-month increments.
CareSource requires the treatment plan and behavioral assessment to be developed by the same provider requesting authorization, and specifies exactly how parent and caregiver training goals must be documented.
If you have other insurance, CareSource is billed second, and won't pay more than the Medicaid rate.
How the process works with CareSource

Why families choose Apex ABA for their CareSource coverage
CareSource covers ABA therapy because it works, but it's worth knowing exactly what that coverage buys your child.
Finding words and the confidence to use them. Asking for help. Expressing needs.
Doing more, needing less help, one skill at a time.
Playing alongside others, then with them.
Fewer meltdowns. More tools to handle the hard moments.
Mornings, mealtimes, transitions, smoother than you thought possible.
Less crisis management. More time to just be family.
How your CareSource coverage plays out at Apex
Plenty of families with good coverage still end up on the sidelines. Having CareSource doesn't guarantee that experience is any different. How your provider uses it does.
Not sidelined while decisions get made about your child. Not waiting to hear about it after the fact.
We limit our caseloads on purpose. That means your BCBA knows your child, remembers what happened last week, and adjusts before your next reauthorization.
In-home therapy during real family moments. School-based therapy during class, recess, lunch.
Weekly check-ins with your BCBA. Live coaching during real moments. Written strategies you can use between sessions.
“Apex has been a game-changer for our family. The therapists take the time to understand our son as an individual and tailor everything to his needs. His tantrums have decreased dramatically, and he's picking up new skills every week.”
