Does United Healthcare cover ABA therapy?
Yes, though not directly through United Healthcare itself
United Healthcare Community Plan is one of nine Maryland Medicaid HealthChoice managed care organizations, part of the national UnitedHealthcare network. ABA therapy is completely carved out of United Healthcare and every other HealthChoice MCO. Your ABA authorization and billing run through Carelon Behavioral Health, regardless of which MCO you're enrolled in.
