In North Carolina, a law called Senate Bill 676 requires most state-regulated health plans to cover ABA therapy for children with autism, up to $40,000 a year for kids under 19. If you have Medicaid, coverage works differently and usually more generously. Whichever one applies to you, we handle the details so you don't have to become an expert in either.

North Carolina's autism insurance mandate
The law itself, in plain English
Senate Bill 676 is North Carolina's autism insurance mandate. It requires fully-insured, state-regulated health plans to cover the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorder, ABA therapy included, up to $40,000 per year for children under 19.
The word "state-regulated" matters here. Self-funded employer plans follow federal ERISA rules instead, so this specific cap doesn't automatically apply to them, though plenty of employers include ABA coverage anyway. We check which kind of plan you have as part of verifying your benefits, so you don't have to figure that out yourself.
