In Georgia, a law called Ava's Law requires most state-regulated health plans to cover ABA therapy for children with autism, up to $35,000 a year for individuals under 21. Georgia Medicaid covers ABA therapy too, and has since 2018. Whichever one applies to you, we handle the details so you don't have to become an expert in either.

Georgia's autism insurance mandate
The law itself, in plain English
Ava's Law is Georgia's autism insurance mandate, first passed in 2015. It requires most state-regulated health plans to cover the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorder, ABA therapy included, up to $35,000 per year for individuals under 21.
One thing worth knowing: some sources describe an age-tiered version of this cap instead, $35,000 for children up to age 6 and $30,000 for children older than that. We're flagging that discrepancy honestly rather than picking one figure and hoping it's right. Either way, the federal Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act limits how strictly insurers can enforce dollar and age caps on mental health benefits like ABA, so your real coverage may be broader than either number suggests. We confirm your specific plan's terms directly rather than relying on a general figure.
As in most states, Ava's Law applies to fully-insured, state-regulated plans. Self-funded employer plans follow federal ERISA rules instead, so this cap doesn't automatically apply to them, though many employers include ABA coverage anyway.
